In order to facilitate manuscript submissions and to respect the preferences of authors, International Quarterly of Foreign Relations accepts all commonly used citation and referencing styles—including Harvard, Chicago, APA, and other recognized formats—during the initial stages of manuscript evaluation.
Accordingly, no manuscript will be excluded from the scientific review process solely on the grounds that it does not conform to the journal's preferred citation style. Therefore, faculty members, students, researchers, and authors are free to employ any widely accepted referencing system when submitting their manuscripts for preliminary evaluation.
However, once the review process has been completed and a manuscript has been accepted for publication in the journal, authors will be required, during the revision stage or the final approval of files prior to publication, to fully comply with the citation and referencing standards prescribed by the journal.
