Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The International Quarterly of Foreign Relations is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and academic responsibility in scholarly publishing. The journal adheres to the ethical principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all participants in the publication process—including authors, reviewers, editors, and members of the Editorial Board—to comply with these principles.

The journal is dedicated to ensuring that editorial decisions are made exclusively on the basis of academic merit, originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the aims and scope of the journal.

Authors' Responsibilities

Authors must ensure that:

  • submitted manuscripts are original and unpublished;
  • manuscripts are not under consideration elsewhere;
  • all sources are properly cited;
  • research findings are presented honestly and accurately;
  • all listed authors have made substantial scholarly contributions;
  • financial support and funding sources are fully disclosed;
  • any significant errors identified after publication are promptly reported to the editorial office.

Editors' Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for:

  • ensuring a fair and unbiased review process;
  • preserving the confidentiality of submissions;
  • preventing conflicts of interest;
  • making decisions solely on academic grounds;
  • investigating allegations of research misconduct.

Reviewers' Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

  • provide objective and constructive evaluations;
  • maintain strict confidentiality;
  • declare conflicts of interest;
  • report suspected plagiarism or ethical violations.

Publication Misconduct

The following practices constitute unethical behavior:

  • plagiarism;
  • duplicate submission;
  • data fabrication or falsification;
  • citation manipulation;
  • falsification of authorship or affiliations;
  • manipulation of the peer-review process.

Any allegation of misconduct will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines.
